Sensei Dale McMaster is the head Instructor at Martial Arts Downunder, located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Martial Arts Downunder (MAD) is a blended martial art with its primary focus on street-smart self defence that is easily converted into sports combat with a structured syllabus.
Martial Arts Downunder have incorporated regular cardio workouts into the self defence techniques and scenario training.
Sensei Dale has trained, and attained multiple Dan ranks and continues to cross training even today. He trains with a commitment to obtain a core of martial arts techniques and attitude.
He was graded as a black belt and 1st Dan as an adult with Freestyle Combat Karate (Mick Nicholls). The founder Mick Nicholls has produced career martial artists in freestyle combat with real heart. Sensei Dale completed his blackbelt and dan grading in Freestyle Combat Karate between 1995-1997, in a time when hard gradings were accepted.
Sensei Dale obtained his 2nd Dan in Australian Freestyle Martial Arts (Rick O’Brien) and the learning process still continues. As a 3rd Dan in Martial Arts Downunder (as authorised by an Australian Freestyle Combat Karate 5th Dan). Sensei Dale is continually cross training in Thai boxing, boxing, Philippine empty hand and trained with such esteemed people as Dan Inosantano ,Kongsak Superboy Muensang, Nick "The Macedonian Warrior" Tolewski, Wayne Parr, John Will, Paul Slowinski, Stephan Fox, Mick Nicholls, Chai Sirusite ,Carl Draper and Dennis Kelly.
Martial Arts Downunder brings a balance between intense mental challenges, a major part of self defence, as well as fitness and technique.
